The JHS 424 Gain Stage is a guitar preamp/overdrive/distortion effects pedal that accurately replicates the gain stages of the vintage TASCAM Portastudio 424 MKI, offering everything from elastic clean tones and wide headroom to saturated overdrive and blown-out fuzz. It’s designed for both live performance and studio use with flexible routing and tone-shaping controls, including a balanced XLR DI output with ground lift.
