Taylor 114e Left Handed Acoustic Guitar

The Taylor 114e is a great guitar. It’s got plenty of character and has a very pleasing, warm tone. One of Taylor’s most popular and versatile body shapes, the mid-size Grand Auditorium arrived in 1994 bearing refined proportions that fell between a Dreadnought and Grand Concert. While the bigger Dreadnought was traditionally considered a flatpicker’s guitar and the smaller Grand Concert catered to fingerstylists, the GA was designed to deliver on both fronts. This gives you a comfortable guitar with great versatility.

Grand Auditorium Body:

The body shape produces an original acoustic voice, loud enough to handle medium-strength picking and strumming with impressive balance across the tonal spectrum, especially in the midrange. This produces clear, well-defined notes that suit both strumming and fingerstyle playing.

The Auditorium’s overall presence tracks well with other instruments both in a studio mix and on stage, and singer-songwriters have embraced its utility both for composing and traveling with one guitar. Many people want a single guitar that can cover a variety of styles, which is why the GA continues to be one of Taylor’s most popular shapes.

The 100 Series incorporates layered back and sides, which offer extra resilience to fluctuating climate conditions, and a slightly narrower 1 11/16-inch neck. It’s one of the best full-size guitars you’ll find for the money. It’s a great performance tool, a great entry-level guitar, or a second utility guitar for alternate tunings.

Great Looking Finish:

Taylor are famous for great looking guitars and the 114e is a classic example of the hard work and master craftsmanship that goes into the design of each model. With a tough gloss varnished finish and stunning natural wood grains each guitar looks unique.

ES-T:

The 114e features fantastic electronics too, with its ES-T pickup and preamp providing you with a great dynamic response. The ES-T sits under the saddles and has individual elements for each string, giving you incredible separation and clarity. With a custom-voiced EQ and active controls, you can be sure to get a natural acoustic sound when you plug this into any PA system or interface.

Here’s what Taylor say about the Taylor 114e 100 Series Walnut Grand Auditorium ES-T Left-Handed:

The 114e features our popular Grand Auditorium body style, whose physical dimensions have made it a popular choice for its appealing performance versatility. Layered walnut back and sides are topped with a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, which together produce signature clear and balanced tone with a pleasing projection and midrange focus. The 1-11/16-inch nut width is slightly narrower than the standard 1-3/4-inch width of other steel-strings in the 300 Series and up, making it easier for developing players to navigate the fretboard. And with Taylor’s onboard ES-T pickup, the guitar is ready to plug in whenever you are. The guitar ships in a durable lightweight gig bag.

ES-T®

The ES-T® is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. It features an onboard preamp and the same active controls found on the full ES. Featuring a custom-voiced EQ and dynamic response, the system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator (which is lit when the battery is being used). The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole. It was available on the 100 and 200 Series until 2016, when the Expression System 2 became the standard pickup.
